A Policy Vision for Justice in the North - A Justice Canada Discussion Paper
Over the past year Justice Canada has been engaged in a discussion aimed at clarifying and providing direction for the various aspects of its mandate in the territories. As a result of that discussion a draft northern policy framework entitled Northern Directions: A Policy Vision for Justice in the North has been prepared. Justice Canada now intends to carry the discussion outwards in order to engage its partners - federal departments, territorial Federal Councils, territorial governments, First Nations, Aboriginal, Métis and Inuit organizations, police, judiciary, the territorial bar, community justice groups and justice system NGOs - in a deeper conversation about the future of the justice system in the north.
