Inventory of Government-Based Family Justice Services
Automated Family Court Order Project (Manitoba)
Type of service
Family Court Services
The Automated Family Court Order Project was developed to improve the processing of Family Division court orders. The project is a joint partnership of the Court of Queen's Bench Family Division, court administration and the legal profession.
The project uses standard wording for family law orders (Auto Order standard clauses), and a database of case information from which orders will be produced immediately after pronouncement in the courtroom, facilitating speedy enforcement where necessary.
The use of the Auto Order standard clauses became mandatory in February 1998. In March 2000, the Automated Family Court Order process was introduced in the Master's Maintenance Enforcement Court in Winnipeg with draft orders being electronically produced by lawyers and support staff of the Family Law Section, Legal Services Branch, Manitoba Justice. In September 2014, the process was introduced in the Queen’s Bench (Family Division) protection order hearing list with orders being produced by court staff.
