The ISO Unit assists individuals in applying for child support or changes to child support where the other parent lives outside Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan has reciprocal agreements (two-way agreements) with all Canadian provinces and territories, the United States and many other countries. Through these agreements, Justice Departments and designated authorities in other provinces, territories or countries can establish, recognize and vary support orders in Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan can do the same in those provinces, territories and countries.

The Inter-jurisdictional Support Orders Act governs inter-jurisdictional applications to establish, recognize or vary support orders.

The Divorce Act contains its own reciprocal provisions for variation of a support order within Canada.
