This is a pie chart which illustrates the percentage of most serious charges committed by Aboriginal youth serving remand on the snapshot day.

This pie chart is divided into five categories, which stand for each type of offence. The five categories are as follows: “Drugs”, “Other Criminal Code”, Federal/Provincial Statute”, “Person” and “Property”.

  • 1% of Aboriginal youth serving remand were charged a drugs offence
  • 18% of Aboriginal youth serving remand were charged with an other Criminal Code offence
  • 3% of Aboriginal youth serving remand were charged with a federal of provincial statute offence
  • 39% of Aboriginal youth serving remand were charged with a person’s offence
  • 39% of Aboriginal youth serving remand were charged with a property offence
