This is a horizontal bar chart which illustrates the types of facilities in which British Columbia Aboriginal youth were registered on Snapshot day.

The X axis is measured in percentages and increases in increments of 5 from 0 to 35.

The Y axis is divided by 5 categories (facility types), from top to bottom: forest/wilderness camp, community residential centre, secure/open and detention/custody centre, foster/community home, other and ranch.

  • 33% of British Columbia Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a forest/wilderness camp
  • 22%% of British Columbia Region Aboriginal youth were registered in a foster/residential centre and secure/open and detention/custody centre
  • 11% of British Columbia Region Aboriginal youth were registered in an other institution
  • 11% of British Columbia Region Aboriginal youth were registered at a ranch
