Chart 5 is a line chart which illustrates the percentage of refugee claims filed in selected ICG countries for the years 1994 to 2001.

The X axis is divided by 8 categories, from left to right: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001.

The Y axis represents the percentage of refugee claims from 0 to 40 in increments of 5.

There are 6 different lines in this chart which stand for each selected ICG countries: Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.

For all years the Netherlands, Canada and Switzerland had less than 10% refugee claims filed. The UK was relatively stable at approximately 12% but peaks in 2000 with approximately 17% refugee claims filed. The US peaks in 1994 with approximately 30% of refugee claims filed, but reaches a low in 1995 at less than 10% of refugee claims filed. Between 1994 and 1997 the percentage of refugee claims increased to a high of 35% in 1997 and began to decrease every year to approximately 22% of refugee claims filed in 2001.
