The Regina Alternative Measures Program (RAMP) is a status blind pre- and post-charge diversion program for youth and adults in the City of Regina. The focus is on the rehabilitation of the offender and the healing of the victim. RAMP uses mediation, family group conferencing and healing circles. The program, which receives referrals from the Crown Prosecutor and the Regina Police Service, is committed to providing culturally relevant services to the First Nation and Métis population of Regina.
RAMP also delivers community education and public awareness workshops, and it works to develop appropriate processes/protocols for ongoing community involvement in and support for RAMP objectives and activities. It conducts educational sessions in schools, and trains the Regina Police Service (RPS) and the RCMP on criteria, referral processes and the Ministerial Order for Alternative Measures.
