Purpose: Osgoode Hall Law School proposes to host a symposium in Toronto, Ontario, on January 18-19, 2007, that will bring together panelists and participants from around the world who have credible experience in government, academia, and law, to discuss the principles of international human rights law and to debate emerging matters of significance. The symposium aims to expand and enrich the debate on international human rights both in Canada and internationally. The long-term goal of the symposium is to develop a more informed and engaged public and legal community with regards to issues of international human rights.
