The purpose of the project is to support activities to be held during National Victims of Crime Awareness Week 2008 - April 13 to 19, 2008. The theme of the week is "Finding the Way Together". One of the key goals of the Week is to raise awareness about the needs of victims of crime, the services, assistance and legislative provisions designed to help them. Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council will support the community conference in each First Nations community (five) due to the distance between them and the different customs and traditions and autonym of each community. The community conference will include: presentations and workshops, public awareness and information kiosks and a feast to honor the victims of crime and express community support to them.
