Purpose: The P.A.G.C. Holdings Inc. has entered into a contribution agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to manage the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) Rural Alternative Measures Program. The PAGC Justice Unit coordinates the development and implementation of community justice structures, plans and services for the twelve member First Nations of the Grand Council (Black Lake Denesuline Nation, Cumberland House Cree Nation, Fond Du Lac Denesuline Nation, Hatchet Lake Denesuline Nation, James Smith Cree Nation, Lac La Ronge First Nation, Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, Red Earth First Nation, Shoal Lake Cree Nation, Sturgeon Lake First and Wahpeton Dakota Nation). The primary objectives of the program are the continuing development of Community Justice Committees and the delivery of diversion programs using mediation, family group conferencing, healing circles and sentencing circles. The program is also involved in other justice-related activities including victim services, crime prevention, and community-based correctional services that focus on offender reintegration and rehabilitation, and victim/offender healing.
