The Yellowhead Tribal Community Corrections Society (YTCCS) has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to host the DOJ-AJS Alberta Regional Gathering with Aboriginal community justice programs.
The Recipient will organize and host a two day regional gathering for 15 AJS funded community-based programs (approx. 30-40 participants) being delivered across Alberta. The gathering will provide participants an opportunity to foster partnerships and build networks amongst service providers, and explore a variety of justice issues as recommended by participating justice stakeholders (i.e. restorative justice, self-care, showcasing of best practices, FASD, Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women (including violence against women), sentencing circles and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). Participants will also partake in a specialized training on FASD developed by the YTCCS.
